FREE LIVE Program at Aqus Cafe, 189 H. St., Petaluma
A short presentation will be followed by a discussion of propaganda and the faces of the enemy as they are presented to us in the media. Inspired both by the talk that Ofer Zur, PhD was planning to give on April 5th in Sonoma, and the work of Sam Keen chronicled in his outstanding book, “Faces of the Enemy,” this is a chance to compare what we observe about propaganda and the making of an enemy — all for the cause of gaining popular support for a war. Good preparation might be to identify how our enemies are portrayed in the mainstream media and bring examples if you wish. How do images and emotionally provocative rhetoric shape our thoughts and perceptions? Do we question or accept our news sources? In the truth-alternate universe we inhabit today, critical thinking and deep inquiry are more important than ever. Come early, order a snack or meal, and join this very important discussion.
